Demolition!

After this lovely house was all cleaned off, I started to remove the porch flooring. It was like a sticker of brick work, and most of it had come off anyway.

I found this gorgeous wood underneath, and I'm currently debating on staining it or painting it. I have hopes the whole house will have this beautiful wood. If it does, then that it's salvageable. To get this off, I literally just pulled it right up. The glue had lost it's bonding ability, and I had no fight from it at all.

Now that this was up, I started attacking the side paneling. In some areas it came off just as easy as the porch flooring, but in most areas it was stubborn. So, since I don't have a lot of actual tools I used a screw driver to get off the rest. It worked fairly well, there were only a few times I had to stab the left over siding to get it all the way off.  What was left was a lot wood glue.
I then moved to the inside. There was more demolition to be done. The first levels hardwood floors looked like it had gone through a flood. It was coming up everywhere. That came up easy, or so I thought. The wood looked as if it had been a sticker type flooring. So the wood came off, but the sticker part refused. I was able to get some of it off, and found beautiful wood underneath (yay!). I'm still trying to figure out how to get the rest up. After much annoyance, I moved up to the second floor. I pulled the carpet out of the two side rooms, it came up fairly easy. The stairwell hallway was the same as the first floor. So up came the wood. Except here the sticker came right up with it.
As you can see, where the carpet came up there was more fun sticker left overs. My plan is to get a wet paper towel and lay it down on the old carpeted area. If that works I'm going to try it on the old wood floor areas.
